Earnslaw (8)

Nicole took this picture of us on the deck of the Earnslaw as we started the journey across the lake. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't so good this day.

The Earnslaw is a vintage steam ship which runs tourist trips on Lake Wakatipu. The ship is powered by twin steam engines producing around 500 horsepower each. Twin locomotive style boilers are fired by coal to produce the steam. Top speed is around 18 knots.
