Its looking like a really capable machine, apart from the criticism Sony makes about the use of DVD instead of Blu-ray.
There are two important points here in relation to Apple's computers. First, the processor is a dual-core 3.2 GHz, faster than anything Apple has in any of its computers. The second is that the "enemy" (Microsoft) has now joined the users of IBM's PowerPC chip - they have abandoned Intel!
I'm hoping that using the same processor (or a similar processor, because its based on the PowerPC, its not necessarily identical) will mean that Xbox games can be relatively easily converted to run on the Mac, and it will be much harder to convert to PC. Maybe this is the beginning of a resurgence in game development for the Mac. At least it will show that there are realistic alternatives to the "standard" processors from Intel.
