The colour was dark deep brown-black, with light carbonation, and a strong pale brown head. The aroma had light sweet chocolate and smokey wood, with light crispness. There was smooth toasty malt, a chocolate and smoky wood finish, and light bitter hops. This beer had full dark malt flavours with moderate hop balance.

Note 1 I am not really a beer expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these beers. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot, on my recommendation, and then regret it!

Note 2 You may not agree with my evaluation of these beers as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on freshness and intense characteristic flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
